Stora Sjöfallet Mountain Lodge is located in the heart of Stora Sjöfallet National Park and the Laponia World Heritage Site—in other words, it’s a truly unique place. Here, you can enjoy a comfortable stay while experiencing the magnificent natural surroundings. We offer modern mountain cabins, self-catering apartments, camping, a restaurant, a small shop, and a gas station.

Stora Sjöfallet National Park stretches across the high mountains, from the pine forests in the south to the Norwegian border in the west. The Sjaunja Bird Sanctuary, which borders the park, is the largest in Sweden and the largest marsh in Europe.

Stora Sjöfallet—or Stuor Muorkke in the Sami language—was established as early as 1909. The name refers to a large “mårka,” meaning the land between two lakes. The national park was established to protect the waterfall and its source lakes.

Our lodge is nestled in stunning surroundings in this truly unique location. Far from the lights and noise of the city, you’ll find yourself right in the middle of the wilderness, while still enjoying comfortable accommodations and delicious meals! The nature, the views, the air, and the tranquility are something truly special, and we who live here are happy to offer tips and share our knowledge.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you at Stora Sjöfallet Mountain Lodge!

We are committed to preserving our magnificent natural environment for future generations, and since we are located within both a national park and a World Heritage Site, the right of public access is restricted, and there are specific rules and regulations that must be followed here.
